The Influential Women in Canadian Agriculture Q&A series provides casual conversations with other change makers in Canadian agriculture. In this session, Emily Potter shares what it was like to step into a prominent leadership role early in her career and how her farm experience shapes her approach.

Speaker bio: Emily Potter was born and raised in the Temiskaming district of Northern Ontario. Her and her parents raise purebred Charolais beef cattle. A 2018 graduate of the University of Guelph studying Animal Science, Emily is now the Executive Director of the Northern Ontario Farm Innovation Alliance (NOFIA), where she oversees agricultural research projects and promotes Northern Ontario as a place to grow agriculture. In her spare time, she likes to show beef cattle at the Royal, help lead the local 4-H beef club and bake pies for family and friends.
