Speaker bio: Karen Schwean-Lardner is an associate professor in the department of animal and poultry science at the University of Saskatchewan, and is highly regarded globally for her work in poultry welfare. In the past, she also managed the University of Saskatchewan Poultry Research and Teaching Centre. Her enthusiasm for her research on poultry housing and teaching have inspired many and materially improved the lives of turkeys, laying hens and broilers around the world
