Farm Management Canada announced the five winners of its Cultivating Resilience video competition for women in agriculture.

Each contestant submitted a video answering the question, “How do you remain resilient for your farm business?” The winning videos were produced by Tannis Axten, Doreen Blumhagen, Claudine Cournoyer, Olivia Sederberg, and Amy Vanstraaten.

As a prize, the chosen contestants will receive an all-expense paid trip to attend the Agricultural Excellence Conference taking place Dec. 2 to 4, 2019 in Fredericton.

The winning contestants talked about resilience in a range of ways, from cultivating a good soil environment to reaching out for wellness supports. Mental health in agriculture was a prevailing theme with all of the contestants mentioning the importance of leaning on peers during tough times, doing activities to maintain a balance between family and business, and making oneself aware of the resources available.
